Newts Cover From Russia!

Many thanks to Yu. E. Kitaev for this lovely cover posted from St. Petersburg, Russia!
On June 25, 2012, the Postal administrations of Russia and Belarus have released a joint stamp issue on Newts. This is the second collaboration between the two countries the first being a four stamps series on Fauna in 2005.
Newts are small amphibians, a kind of salamander. They are found in North America, Europe, and North Asia. Some newt populations have decreased because of pollution or destruction of their breeding sites and terrestrial habitats. In many countries, it is illegal to catch, possess or handle newts without a license, and it is also illegal to cause them harm or death, or to disturb their habitat in any way.
