My first cover from Qatar!

Many thanks to Rodel Evangelista (Dale) for presenting me this lovely cover from Qatar! The stamp franked on the left of this cover belongs to the "Qatar sheds tears for Gaza" memorial stamp series.

Dedicated to the victims of Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, Qatar Post announced the launch of the memorial stamp on 21 Jan 2009. All proceeds from the sale of stamps will go to the victims of the recent Israeli assault on the Gaza strip. The stamp in the middle belongs to the "Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani" Definitive stamps, issued in 1996.

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani (Arabic: الشيخ حمد بن خليفة آلثاني‎) (born in 1952), is the Emir of the state of Qatar. Emir ("commander" or "general", also "prince"; also transliterated as amir, aamir or ameer) is a high title of nobility or office, used throughout the Arab World.

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani raised to that position on 26 June 1995, after deposing his father, who was vacationing in Switzerland at the time. (Wikipedia)
Lastly, we have a lovely stamp from the "Islamic Holy Places" series. It was issued on 18 Dec 2007. The stamps depict the three holiest places in Islamic Religion.
This cover was postmarked in Doha (the capital city of Qatar) on 26 April 2009 and took 3 days to travel an estimated distance of 6,224kms.

(PS: Hi Dale, would like to confirm mailing address, kindly email me. Thanks!)
