2 lovely postcards from Poland and Azores!

Here I have 2 beautiful postcards to share with you.

The first postcard shows the night view of the Old Town of Warsaw, Poland. It was sent by Postcrosser, Zuzanna. Great thanks to you if you happen to read this post.

Warsaw (Warszawa in Polish) is the capital and largest city of Poland. It is located on the Vistula River roughly 370 kilometers from both the Baltic Sea coast and the Carpathian Mountains.

Warsaw offers a variety of tourist attractions. Since 1980, the Old Town, one of the main attractions, has been a UNESCO World heritage site. Among the most notable landmarks of the Old Town are the Royal Castle, King Sigismund's Column, Market Square and the Barbican.

The City Center

The stamp franked on the left is from the "Polish Manor Houses" series, issued on 20th June 2001. And the right stamp belongs to the " Polish Cities - Czestochowa" series, issued on 24th April 2006.

This second postcard was sent by Márcia from Terceira, a beautiful island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean . It is located in the Portuguese archipelago of Azores (Açores in Portuguese), about 1,500 km from Lisbon and about 3,900 km from the east coast of North America. Thank you, Márcia!

This card shows Fajã dos Cubres, one of the most beautiful and exotic cliffs in the island of São Jorge, in the central part of the Azores. I am sorry that the quality of the scan did not do justice to this gorgeous postcard. So I have included another view of this awesome cliff.
The 2 beautiful stamps are from the "Portuguese Masks" series II, issued on 29th June 2006 and "The Azorean Bullfinch" series, issued on 28th May 2008. Note that the later was inscribed both "PORTUGAL" and "AÇORES". It has no special purpose beyond the expression of local pride; all are sold and valid in Portugal. About 5-10 are issued each year, generally with themes relating to the Azores.
That's all folks! Have a great day!
