2 awesome Polish covers!

Many thanks to Kazimierz for sending these 2 awesome covers from Poland.

The 3 se-tenant stamps on the first cover were issued on 20 October 2003 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Motorbike Races in Poland.

The stamp franked on the left of this second cover belongs to the "Polish towns and cities" series. Polish Post begun with the issue of stamps related to Polish capital cities in 2002. This stamp depicts Sandomierz, a city in south-eastern Poland . It was issued on 1st January 2004. Sandomierz is one of the oldest and historically most significant cities in Poland. Archeological finds around the city indicate that humans inhabited the area since neolithic times. The city came into existence in the early Middle Ages, taking advantage of an excellent location at the junction of Vistula and San rivers, and on the path of important trade routes.

Next, we have a souvenir sheet featuring Sun Wukong (孫悟空), known in the West as the Monkey King. It was issued on 30th July 2004 to commemorate the World Philatelic Exhibition held in Singapore on 28th August to 1st September 2004.

Sun Wukong is the main character in the classical Chinese epic novel Journey to the West. In the novel, he accompanies the monk Xuan zang on the journey to retrieve Buddhist sutras from India.

The two covers were postmarked in Tarnobrzeg on 14th and 13th May 2009 respectively. And both covers arrived in Singapore at the same time yesterday.
