A lovely postcard from Italy!

Here is a postcard showing the Piazza del Duomo ("Cathedral Square") sent by fellow blogger, Riccardo. Thank you!

The Piazza del Duomo, also known as Piazza dei Miracoli (Piazza of Miracles) is a wide, walled area at the heart of the city of Pisa, Tuscany in Italy. It is recognized as one of the main centers for medieval art in the world. Partly paved and partly grassed, it is dominated by four great religious edifices: the Duomo, the Baptistry, the Camposanto and the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.

The stamp franked on this awesome postcard belongs to the "Beijing 2008 Olympic games" series, issued on 7th July 2008.

Since I was a kid, I have always heard about the Leaning Tower of Pisa, read about how it actually leans and why… Back in Dec 2006, my wife and I actually had the chance to visit this man-made marvel.
We saw it, touched the Tower, “held up” the Tower, jumped for joy on the very soil it stood on and took many photos of it!

And here are our memories of the Leaning Tower of Pisa...
