Hong Kong cover with nice postmarks

Hi! Here, I would like to share with you a cover which I received from Hong Kong last year. What is worth mentioning about the cover are the beautiful postmarks on it. They featured the Star Ferry, one of Hong Kong’s much-loved icons. Unlike most postmarks that you will see on daily mails which are dull and uninteresting, this is one of the well-designed postmarks that in my opinion projected Hong Kong perfectly to the philatelic world.
The Star Ferry has been in operation since 1888, ferrying passengers across the Victor Harbour between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Even though there are now other ways to cross the harbour (by MTR and road tunnels), the Star Ferry continues to provide an efficient, popular and inexpensive mode of crossing the harbour. The ferry is also a favourite among tourists because if offers good view for both side of the harbour, or simply because it’s one of HK’s main heritage.
The 2 stamps used on the cover were issued in 2006 and belong to the Birds Definitives Series.
This cover was posted on 03rd Dec 2008 in Kowloon, Hong Kong and reached Singapore on 10th Dec 2008. It travelled an estimated distance of 2,584km or 1,605 miles.
